30-Plant Weekly Tracker
Keep track of the different plant foods you eat each week. Choose from the checklist, add anything missing and watch your variety total grow. Each plant counts once.
An optional weekly variety challenge.
Selections save on this device. Uncheck to remove saved lists.
How to use your weekly plant checklist
- Choose the week you want to record, then search or browse the plant categories.
- Select plants you have eaten. Add a custom entry if one is missing, checking that it is not already listed under another name.
- Keep browser saving switched on to return to your selections on the same browser, or print the checklist. Use Start New Week when you want to move forward.
One breakfast, four plants
Oats with blueberries, walnuts and cinnamon counts as four different plants under this tracker’s rules. Eating oats again later does not add a fifth point. This is a counting example, not a meal recommendation.
Count the plant, not its different names
Chickpeas and garbanzo beans are the same plant. Fresh coriander leaves and cilantro are two names for the same ingredient. Check the list before adding a custom entry; the tracker does not detect every duplicate or regional name. A repeated food or a different preparation should not earn another point under these rules.
Tracker questions
Will my list still be here when I return?
With browser saving on and available, selections stay on this browser and device. They do not sync to another device. Clearing browser data, using private browsing or changing browsers can remove or hide your saved list. Unchecking the saving option removes saved lists.
Does starting a new week delete this week?
Start New Week moves the selected date forward by seven days. Saved previous weeks remain available through the week selector while browser saving is on. Clear This Week removes selections for the selected week.
Do I need to reach 30 to benefit?
This tool cannot assess your health or measure a benefit. Thirty is an optional variety challenge, not a pass-or-fail nutrition test. Choose foods that suit your allergies, tolerances and individual dietary advice.
What counts, and what does 30 mean?
This tracker uses a simple whole-plant counting convention: one point for each different fruit, vegetable, pulse, whole grain, nut, seed, herb or spice logged during the selected week. A plant counts once even if eaten more than once or in different forms. Oats and oat flour count together; red and white onions count together. Check ingredients in mixed dishes separately.
Herbs and spices each count once in this tracker. Other challenges use different scoring rules, so totals are not directly interchangeable. Coffee, tea, oils and mushrooms are excluded from the preset list. Custom additions are your own entries and are not automatically verified or classified.
The American Gut study reported associations between plant variety and gut microbiome characteristics. It did not establish that reaching 30 plants treats disease. Thirty is an optional variety goal, not a diagnosis, health score or requirement for everyone. Do not eat foods you are allergic to or that conflict with your individual dietary advice.
